Sagano-Arashiyama Romantic Sightseeing Tram - the train and the station (May 14, 2012)
We took the Sagano-Arashiyama Romantic Sightseeing Tram yesterday and then rode in a riverboat back to Arashiyama from Kameoka. I have lots of photos from that beautiful day - by far one of the best things I’ve done in Kyoto.
Wait- I mean… it was horrible and too hot and totally lame! Sorry you missed it, Bean.
On the train still, a good look at a small town on the way to Teine from Otaru. The station we leave here is Inaho.

A Trip on a Train to Otaru
Say that five times fast. Suckers.
After a delicious breakfast of purple potatos with poached eggs(tongue twister day) we took a bus to the train station in Teine. From Teine we took the train to Otaru, which runs along the coast of the Sea of Japan and we could even see glimpses of Russia.
Otaru is small town, on the coast with a canal. It’s got some cute shopping, delicious seafood and kitchy stuff but really people just go for the canal. Everything worth seeing is walking distance from the station, so Otaru is excellent for a day trip.
We ate delicious seafood, saw the canal and rode a train! More pictures to follow.
